Assistant Director Position

The Sauk County Historical Society is seeking an assistant director to work with the executive director and the volunteer Board of Directors.

Basic Responsibilities:to plan, coordinate, and administrate the work of the organization.

SCHS collects, preserves, and shares the history of Sauk County through the operation of a historical museum, history center, and online resources. We have educational and outreach programming throughout the year. SCHS owns and manages six properties and employs a full-time executive director, a full-time curator, part-time research and office manager, and seasonal museum staff. 

The assistant director serves with the executive director to manage and advance SCHS affairs with more specific duties outlined below

Work Hours:  

30 hours per week.  This is considered a non-exempt full-time position with benefits outlined in the SCHS Employee Handbook which include flexible hours and paid time off. No healthcare insurance or retirement benefits are included.

Compensation:

Starting pay range is $21 to $23 per hour (max. 30 hours per week), depending upon qualifications and experience. Benefits are outlined in the SCHS Employee Handbook and include paid holidays and paid vacation time. The position is subject to a 60 day probationary period.
