The sport has outlasted many other institutions in Reedsburg, starting from essentially sandlot teams lucky to have a coach at all, evolving into a well organized program equipped with modern equipment and training gear. The teams played through world wars, the Great Depression, was stalled by a flu epidemic and even was dropped for a couple of years.
