U’ren, Terry. Terry U'ren, age 58, of Hayward, WI, died Friday, September 14, 2001 at his home in Northwoods Beach, WI. Terry was born October 25, 1942 in Richland Center, WI, the son of Jack and Marjorie (Mason) U'ren. Terry graduated from Baraboo High School in Baraboo, WI and attended college in Milton, WI where he graduated with a degree in business administration. He was united in marriage to Faith (Ruda) U'ren on April 24, 1964 in Baraboo, WI. He purchased and operated the Log Cabin Store in Hayward, WI from 1975 through 1998. He was active in the Bass Lake Volunteer Fire Department and served as Fire Chief. He is survived by his wife, Faith of Hayward, WI; one daughter, Nicole (Nici) U'ren of Hoboken, New Jersey; one sister, Sharon (Paul) Childers of Evansville, WI; one brother, Jack (Judy) U'ren, Jr. of Kirkland, WA and several nephews and nieces. A memorial service will take place 3:30 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2001 at the Rago Funeral Home, Baraboo, WI. Interment will be private. Memorials may be directed to Bass Lake Volunteer Department, Bass Lake Township, Hayward, WI. The Anderson-Nathan Funeral Home is assisting the family with local arrangements.
Uphoff, Diana. Miss Diana Uphoff, 20, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Uphoff, route four, died Tuesday afternoon, July 21, 1931 at the St. Joseph's hospital at Milwaukee. The young lady had been ill but two weeks with pneumonia and her sudden death comes as a shock to her many friends and relatives in this locality. Miss Uphoff had resided in this vicinity all her life with the exception of the past several years when she had been employed at Milwaukee. She was a graduate of the Baraboo high school and had studied a Beauty culture course at Milwaukee for a year. The deceased is survived by her parents, one sister Lila, and her paternal and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Uphoff of Ableman and Mr. and Mrs. John Koenig, route four. She is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins who reside in this locality. Funeral services are to be held on Frdiay afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and 2 o'clock at St. John's Lutheran church. Taken from the Baraboo Paper of July 1931.
Uptagraw, Shirley A. Shirley A. Uptagraw, age 67, of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at St. Marys Hospital, Madison. She is survived by her husband, Richard Uptagraw of Baraboo; six children, Laura Knuth of Beaver Dam, Ruth (Robert) Steinhorst of Baraboo, Sandra Kaun and Bruce Preuss of Wonewoc, Todd Uptagraw and Vickie Rachuj of Baraboo, Scott (Kathy) Uptagraw of Baraboo, and Richard Uptagraw and Danielle Kelly of Baraboo; 22 grandchildren; seven great - grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Wilson of Prairie du Sac; a brother, Raymond Werla of Racine; other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Baraboo, with Monsignor Delbert Schmelzer officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at the church, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday. The Daughters of Isabella will recite the rosary at 3 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Redlin Funeral Home, Baraboo, is assisting with arrangements.
