Maass, Harvey Earl. Harvey Earl Maass, 56, of D1945 County Road C, Stratford, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, July 13, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield, WI. Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 17, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home in Stratford with Anthony L. Straseske, officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Meixner, Jim Hoege, Myron Freund, Chuck Murphy, Ken Fischer and Jack Fischer. Committal services will be the following day on Friday, July 18, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Portage, WI. Visitations will be on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until time of the services at the funeral home. He was born May 21, 1947 in Lewiston township, Columbia county, in WI., the son of Emil and Jennie (Madland) Maass. As a young man he farmed the home farm on Maass Road near Portage, WI. He also worked for the steel workers of Madison, Stainless and Repair of Marshfield, Custom Fab of Marshfield, A&B Processing Systems of Stratford and Wisconsin Homes of Marshfield. He had been retired since 2000 due to health. He is survived by his wife Mary, and two sons Corey (Alexa) Maass of Maple Grove, MN. and Dan (Shannon) Maass of Union Grove, WI. He is further survived by his grandson Alik Hansen and his mother Evalyn of Wauwatosa; his three step-children, Rick Vanderhoof of Fenwood, Kathy (Damon) Englebretson and their children, Deanna and Brandon of Stratford and Gary (Elaine) Vanderhoof and their children, Kylie and Max of Stratford. He is further survived by his step-father Orrin Zamzow of Baraboo; step-brother Harold (Carol) Zamzow of Poynette; a very special Aunt Selma Holderman of Madison; two nephews and their wives; a very special friend who has been like a brother, Bill Meixner; and many other family and friends. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, working in his garden and flower beds. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and the metal working he did. He enjoyed shooting pool leagues and bowling when he was able to. He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him. May he rest in peace.

Maier, Donald F. Donald F. Maier, age 64, of Sauk City, died on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at his home. He was born in Springfield township on June 23, 1938, the son of the late Adam "Eddie" and Mildred (Rundle) Maier. He is survived by sisters and brothers, Earl Maier of Richland Center, Glen Maier of New Providence, Iowa, Vincent Maier of Richland Center, Karen (Bob) Bakken of Cross Plains, and Nancy Maier of Avoca; and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, B.J. Shay; and an infant brother, Victor. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Maier, Edna L. Edna L. Maier, age 88, of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2001, at St. Clare Meadows Care Center. Edna was born on February 27, 1913 in Barron, Wisconsin to Edward Nelson Stebbins and Laura A. (Horstman) Stebbins. She graduated from Barron High School in 1931 and U.W.-Superior in 1935 with a Bachelor of Education Degree. While attending college, she was active in women's athletics and choral music. Following graduation from college, Edna taught at Park Falls High School, in her fields of expertise, English and Social Studies. She was also active in extra curricular activities such as coaching women's basketball teams and refereeing basketball games, coaching debate teams and musical students when needed. Edna was married to August J. Maier on June 16, 1945. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1965. Together they owned a large farm in Fairfield Township outside of Baraboo. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Nelson Stebbins. She is survived by her son, John A. (Cindy) Maier, one sister Marian Kinyon of Marble Head Massachusetts, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Edna and August were active members of the First United Methodist Church in Baraboo, serving on administrative boards and singing in the church choir. She belonged to Circles 3 and 4 jointly. Edna loved music and sang in the local and state versions of the Homemakers Chorus. She was a member of two homemakers clubs, as well as the "Choralairs," a women's accapella choral music ensemble, and the Interse Club. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 29, 2001, at the First United Methodist Church in Baraboo, with Pastor Forrest Clark officiating. Malin, Kay Ann. Kay Ann Malin, age 98 of Baraboo, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2002, at St. Clare Meadows Care Center. Kay was born on May 1, 1903 near Warsaw, Poland and immigrated to Chicago, Illinois with her parents at age three. She was a twenty-year resident of the Poynette area and spent the last nine years residing in Baraboo. Kay was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She is survived by her sons, Robert Malin of Salem, Oregon and Benedict Malin of Merrimac, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Kazimir and Anastazia Molinski; two brothers, Alfred and Richard; her husband, Benedict Malin; and her daughter, Virginia Elliott of Colorado. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 19, 2002, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baraboo with Father Gerald Vosen officiating. Interment will take place in the Hillside Cemetery in Poynette. Mallon, Eunice H. Eunice H. Mallon, age 88 of Leland, died on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born in Reedsburg on Aug. 20, 1914, the daughter of the late Frederick and Alma (Toeder) Stolte. She was a graduate of Reedsburg High School and Sauk County Normal School and taught school before marrying Roy Mallon of Leland on June 2, 1935. They celebrated 57 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 24, 1992. Eunice was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Leland where she was the director of the choirs, Sunday school teacher and active in the Women's Organization. She was actively involved as a 4-H leader, and in Homemakers and enjoyed bowling, crocheting, and card groups. Her pride in prospering as a homemaker/housewife was in her labors in selling eggs that her chickens produced, boarding school teachers, selling Avon, working in the Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital Nursing Home, and cooking at the Tower Rock School until her retirement. She is survived by 3 children: Shirley (Alan) Albers of Plain, Kathryn (Nick) Lester of Prairie du Sac, Ronald (Barbara) Mallon of Janesville; Son-in-law; Duane Trachsler of Plain; 9 grandchildren: Steven (Jeanne) Trachsler, Thomas (Kristeen) Litscher, Gail (David) Meyer, Terrianne (Drake) Bradbury, Todd (Nadine) Litscher, Bryan (Jocelyn) Mallon, Craig (Elizabeth) Lester, Karen Lester, Scott (Amy) Mallon; 3 step-grandchildren: Greg, Jeff and Brent Albers; Granddaughter -in-law; Cheryl Trachsler; 14 great-grandchildren: Matthew and Garrett Trachsler, Ben, Ashley and Anna Meyer, Austin, Sydney, Kiana and Ross Litscher, Rachelanne and Lauren Bradbury, Andrew and Emma Lester and Sydney Mallon; Step-brother: Raymond Wolter; Step-sister-in-law: Lillian Wolter. Malmberg, Sueanne M. Sueanne M. Malmberg, age 56, of Merrimac, died unexpectedly at home Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003. She graduated with a B.S.N. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She married James E. Malmberg on June 27, 1975, and lived in Cleveland, Wis., until June 2001. They then moved to Merrimac. Survivors include her husband, James; a son, Stephen of Baraboo; two daughters, Amy of Roscoe, Ill., and Jennifer of Sauk City; and two brothers, Michael Finger of Oshkosh, and Scott Finger of Green Bay. She was also a loving grandmother of three granddaughters, Sarah, Anna and Molly. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at the MERRIMAC UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, with Pastor Anita Genrich officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Girl Scouts of Manitou Council or the Merrimac United Methodist Church. The Redlin Funeral Home in Baraboo is assisting the family.

Marquardt, Archie Fred. Archie Fred Marquardt passed away with his loving family at his side on September 27, 2001 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Born to William Frederick and Ida Hulda (Petzke) Marquardt on January 6, 1911, Archie was a lifelong resident of Baraboo. He was united in marriage to Margaret Keister on April 12, 1941 and this union was blessed with 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Archie attended Baraboo public schools and as a lad worked at the Island Woolen Mill. He was later employed by the Northwestern Railroad as a carpenter/painter in the Baraboo car shop for 32 years and by Soiltest as a carpenter for 16 years, retiring in 1980. Archie proudly served his country in WW II as a sergeant in the Army. Of his 39 months of duty, 15 were served in central Europe in the countries of France, Rhineland and Germany. He was a cook for his Company - 319 Infantry of the 80th Division. He received the Bronze Star while serving in Luxemburg, Germany. He carried ammunition and food rations over miles of deep snow and enemy barrages to this Company's forward positions. On return trips he helped carry the wounded and dead back to the rear. Additionally, he received the Good Conduct Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the Carbine MM Rifle S.S. Archie was in Austria on V.E. Day in 1945 and had earned enough points to return home to the U.S. He sailed with the 10th Armored Division on the General Breckenridge and was discharged in October of 1945. Archie enjoyed working with wood and repairing cars and clocks. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting with his sons. He especially enjoyed a good joke and sharing his love with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Emanuel United Methodist Church, the V.F.W. Post 2336 and the Loyal Star of America. Archie was a member of the American Legion Post 26 for more than 50 years and served as commander for a one-year term. Archie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret (Mickey) and their five children: Judy Hackett, William Marquardt, Dale (Diane) Marquardt, Lynn (Sam) Schuebel, and Kristi (Gary) Pace, all of Baraboo. Eleven grandchildren: Gary and Andy (Tammy) Hackett, Benjamin, Sarah, Melissa, and Aaron Marquardt, Allison, Jennifer and Stephanie Schuebel, and Kylie and Ryan Pace. One great-granddaughter, Hailey McDaniel. One sister, Lucille Waddell of Albany, WI and one brother, LaVern (Arlene) of Baraboo, four sisters-in-law: Irene of Madison, Mary J. of Fond du Lac, Lillian Howell of Minneapolis, and Dessa Abraham of Portage. Other nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Victor, Kenneth and Robert, three sisters: Eleva Klitzke, Oleva Miller, and Sylvia Schneider. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 6, at 11:00 A.M. at the Emanuel United Methodist Church in Baraboo with Pastor David Farina officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Walnut Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services, at the church. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery. Marquardt, Ida E. Ida E. Marquardt of Baraboo passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2001, at St. Clare Meadows Care Center at the age of 100. Ida was born on June 14, 1901, in Baraboo, to Albert and Minnie (Stoeckmann) Koepp. She was united in marriage to Edward Marquardt on November 9, 1921, in Baraboo. Ida was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. She enjoyed crocheting. She is survived by 3 children, Lorin (Mary) Marquardt of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Lois Egerer of Escondido, CA and Ida Mae (Albert) Pawlisch of North Ridgeville, OH; 5 grandchildren, Shelly Egerer, Janice Askew and Pam, Brian, and Craig Pawlisch; 5 great-grandchildren, Michael Marquardt, Jr., Kristie Marquardt, Thomas, Luke, and Amy Askew; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Kiara and Ashley Marquardt; 1 sister, Lila Loebig of Mountain Home, Arkansas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; 1 brother; 2 sisters; and a grandson, Michael Marquardt. Marquardt, Hazel Alice. Hazel Alice Marquardt, age 92, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2002, at St. Clare Meadows Care Center after a brief illness. Hazel was born on January 4, 1909 in Baraboo, WI, the daughter of Charles and Mathilda (Dunse) Zehnpfennig. In April 1929, she was united in marriage to Frank E. Marquardt. He preceded her in death in March of 1961. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William Zehnpfennig and a sister, Lila Marking. Hazel was a member and very active in St. John's Lutheran Church. She was always most gracious and loving, generously giving of herself to her family and friends. She had fond memories of her employment at Ott Hardware and later at Isenberg's True Value Hardware. Her sense of humor will long be remembered by all of her friends. Survivors include one brother, Eugene (Caroline) Zehnpfennig of Reedsburg, WI, her sister-in-law, Elna Zimmerman of Spring Green, three sons, Robert (Mary) of Hudson, WI, Russell (Shirley) of Sarasota, FL, Richard (Nancy) of Poynette, WI, and one daughter, Lou Ann (Joe) Ward of Baraboo, WI. She is also survived by a special niece, Debbie Paape, 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, January 6, at the Redlin Funeral Home at 201 Eighth Avenue in Baraboo. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 624 East Street in Baraboo on Monday, January 7 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Fricke officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. It would be Hazel's wish that all memorials be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.

Marshall, James E. James E. Marshall, age 39, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 28, 2002, after a long illness, He was born on Dec. 26, 1962, in Milwaukee, the son of Dr. Maynard J. Marshall and Linda R. Marshall. Jim worked in the family business of Elysee Scientific Cosmetics as a cosmetic chemist. On March 18, 2000, Jim married Jennifer Rott in Madison. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed various activities including hunting, fishing, gardening, and "family night." In addition to his wife, Jennifer, he is survived by his daughter, Jadyn; his son, Ryan James; his father, Dr. Maynard (Mary) Marshall; his mother, Linda Marshall; a brother, John Marshall, all of Madison; his grandmother, Tola Newman of Salt Lake City, Utah; his mother-in-law, Linda Rott of Reedsburg; and father-in-law, Leonard Rott of Baraboo; two sisters-in-law, Lindsey Rott and Theresa Rott, both of Reedsburg; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Arvid Newman; and paternal grandparents, John and Emma Marshall. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., (near Parmenter St.) Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2002, with Father Bernard Rott, and Bishop Douglas Clark presiding. It broke our hearts to lose you, but did not go alone; for parts of us went with you, the day God took you home. Your memory is our keepsake with which we'll never part. Matejka, Lambert. Lambert "Bert" Matejka, age 76, died peacefully at his home on September 17, 2001. He was born in 1925 to Mr. and Mrs. William Matejka on May 25 in Dodge County, Nebraska. He was the youngest son in a family of ten. Bert was a farmer in Taylor, Wisconsin until the mid-sixties. After that time, he worked for Darrow's Country Market as a frozen foods manager and at Papa's Place in maintenance. He is survived by a son, Marvin (Sheila); 5 grandchildren; his sisters, Sophia Thomsen of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Marcella (Victor) Miskoff of Omaha, Nebraska. Also mourning his passing is his friend and companion, Georgia Mason and her family. Along with Georgia, Kelly Berberich also gave him loving care in his last years. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings and a daughter, Janice Woof. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2001, at 11:00 A.M. at the Redlin Funeral Home in Baraboo. Friends may call on Saturday, the 29th, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services, at the funeral home.

Mattix, Ralph. Ralph Mattix, 52, Ableman, passed away at the St. Mary's hospital, Baraboo, on Monday evening, March 30, 1936. He had undergone an appendectomy last week, and later pneumonia developed. He was born on April 16, 1884. Funeral services for Mr. Mattix were held yesterday afternoon from the Ableman Baptist church. He is survived by the widow, three children, Richard, Lloyd and Loretta, his mother, Mrs. Wm. Kumke, Ableman, besides other relatives.

McCoy, Gertrude Jenette Lindley. Gertrude Jenette Lindley McCoy, age 91 of Payson Utah, passed away Friday, December 14, 2001, at the Mtn. Air Assisted Living Center. She was born September 23, 1910 in Baraboo, Wisconsin, a daughter of Arthur John and Amelia Wandrei Lindley. She married Donald James McCoy, March 19, 1929 in Rockford, Illinois. He preceded her in death November 24, 1980. Gertrude grew up next to the Barnum and Bailey Circus and enjoyed riding the circus horses. She worked as a bookkeeper and auditor for many years and she and her husband owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Payson for over 30 years. She was a talented musician and played piano and organ for the Silent Movies in Wisconsin and she shared her talents at many weddings and funerals in Payson. She enjoyed doing needlework. She volunteered at the Payson Library for many years and she was a member of the Cultus Club. She was a member of the Provo Community Church and attended regularly until her health would prevent it. Survivors include: her daughter and son, Betty Jean (Bernard) Oberg, Dean James (Maxine) McCoy, all of Payson; four grandchildren, Gary (Vicky) Oberg, Delta; Carol (Mike) Pulver, Payson; David (Shauna) McCoy, Lehi; Duane (Cynthia) McCoy, Payson; 11 great-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ellen Marie Gasner, Baraboo, Wisconsin; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Lindley, of West Bend, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death a week ago by a brother, Harold Lindley. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 18, 2001, 11:00 AM, at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, where friends may call Monday, 6-8:00 PM or Tuesday, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.

McFadden, Linda K. Linda K. McFadden, age 58, died unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, in her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at the HOOF FUNERAL HOME in Reedsburg, Wis., with Rev. Paul Crolius officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the A.L.S Foundation to fight Lou Gehrig's disease would be appreciated.

McGinnis, Paulina M. Paulina M. McGinnis, age 18, of Reedsburg, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 21, 2001 in her home from an apparent epileptic seizure. She was born on April 19, 1983 in Kaukauna, the daughter of Theodore Sr. and Janice (Lohr) McGinnis. She graduated from the Reedsburg Area High School in May, 2001. She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church where she had been active in the Junior Choir, Sunday School and the Youth Group; a ten year member of the Mirror Lake 4-H where she enjoyed learning about animals and showing dairy cattle. She represented Sauk County at the State Fair with her sewing in the Fashion Preview in 1999. She also attended the National 4-H Congress at Atlanta, Georgia in 2000. She had also been a Girl Scout member. Paulina enjoyed life and especially loved to travel which began with her 4-H exchange trips. She went to North Dakota with a group of Girl Scouts. She participated in several church youth trips, from the Boundary Waters to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and she went on the Mexican Mission Trip to help build houses for the poor. As a sophomore, Paulina was a member of the RAHS music department concert and sightseeing tour to New York City. Upon graduation she spent a week in Orlando, Florida visiting many sights including one of her dreams, Disney Land. Paulina worked at Black Bart's, Lands End and McDonalds and she was also currently enrolled in the accounting program at MATC in Reedsburg. Survivors include her parents: Ted and Jan McGinnis, of Reedsburg; two brothers: Ted Jr. (T.J.) and Philip; her maternal grandmother: Neah Lohr, of Reedsburg; her paternal grandparents: Tom and Mary McGinnis, of Kaukauna; a very special uncle: James Lohr, of Reedsburg; her other aunts and uncles: Dr. Joann Lohr, and her husband, Michael Reardon, of Cincinnati, OH; Joseph (Michele) Lohr, of Reedsburg; Victoria (Scott) Roberts, of Crystal Lake, IL; Louis (Richard) Boyd, of Reedsburg; Michael (Kelly) McGinnis, of Neenah; Bridget (Kenneth) Wirtz, of Neenah and Peggy (Mark) Fisherkeller, of Indianapolis, IN; many cousins; great aunts; great uncles and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Robert Lohr, on September 18, 1999. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday at ST. JOHN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH in Reedsburg. Burial will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the HOOF FUNERAL HOME in Reedsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Youth Group, St. John Lutheran Church of the Epilepsy Foundation of Wisconsin would be appreciated.

McGonigle, Mary. Mrs. Mary McGonigle, 75, died Saturday night, May 15, 1937, at the home of her son, Dr. B. E. McGonigle, where she had been ill for the past two years. She made her home with her son and family since the death of her only daughter six years ago. The body was sent from Baraboo to her former home in Jackson, Nebr., where the funeral services were held. Survivors are five sons, William of Chamberlain, S. D.; Victor, Jackson, Nebr., John, Sun Prairie, and Leo and Bart of Ableman.

McKinney, Kenneth D. Kenneth D. "Ken" McKinney, age 77 of Sauk City, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at the Pines Assisted Living Center in Prairie du Sac. He was born in Reedsburg on May 20, 1924, the son of the late William and Bessie (Jackson) McKinney. Ken was employed by International Harvestor Company from 1946 until 1950. In 1951 he went to work at Badger Ordnance, retiring after 37 years of employment. Ken's hobbies included flying, and restoring antique cars and airplanes. He was a member of the Sauk City Fire Department for 17 years, Sauk City Bald Head Club, E.A.A., and Concordia United Methodist Church in Prairie du Sac. He is survived by his fiance, Ruth Falk of Baraboo; a daughter-in-law, Linda McKinney of Mount Horeb; 2 grandchildren, Scott McKinney of UW Stout and Andrea McKinney of Mount Horeb; 3 sisters, Margaret Weiss of Cross Plains, Kathleen (Clinton) Mayhew of Oklahoma and Rosemary (John) Swenson of Pardeeville; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; a son, Ken Jr. and 2 brothers, Charles and Patrick. Funeral services will be held at CONCORDIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Prairie du Sac, at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2001 with Pastor Dave Hein officiating. Burial will be Black Hawk Cemetery. McLerran, Esther. Esther McLerran, 167 Third St., Reedsburg died Tuesday, October 23, 1973 after a long illness. She was born in Reedsburg to Henry Perau and Bertha Krohn. She married Hubert S. McLerran who died on December 4, 1960. She was a clerk at Allis Chalmers in Milwaukee and a member of St. Peter's Lutheran church. Services by the Gant Funeral Home, were held on Friday, October 26, with Rev. Dennis Hipenbecker officiating. Burial followed at St. Peter's Cemetery. McNamara, Edward F. Edward F. McNamara, 72, Reedsburg, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. He was born on March 19, 1931, in Madison to Frank and Fanny (nee Jackson) McNamara. On April 19, 1958, he married Beverly J. Montgomery. Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Edward is survived by his wife of 45 years, Beverly McNamara, Reedsburg; sisters, Helen McNamara, St. Louis, Mo., and Mary McNamara, Baraboo; brother, Patrick (Nancy) McNamara, Baraboo; sister-in-law, Betty McNamara, Baraboo; nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John McNamara. Funeral services for Edward McNamara were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Father Thomas Monaghan officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Reedsburg VFW Post 1916. Friends called on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Meyer, Allen. Allen, the four weeks' old son of Otto Meyer, passed away at 2 o'clock Friday morning, August 19, 1904 at Ableman, after an illness of only a few hours. Thursday afternoon the little one was taken with a convulsion and only lived a few hours. The funeral was held at two o'clock at the Lutheran church, Rev. Popp officiating.

Meyer, Otto W. Otto W. Meyer, 78, of Rock Springs, passed away early today at the Reedsburg Municipal hospital following a short illness. Mr. Meyer was a retired farmer. He was a life-long resident of Rock Springs. Surviving Mr. Meyer are two sons, Richard of Rock Springs, and Kenneth of Muncie, Ind., one brother, Fred Baumgarten of Baraboo, one sister, Mrs. Elsie Schulze of Reedsburg, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife in January of this year. Funeral services for Mr. Meyer will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the St. John's Lutheran church in Rock Springs, with the Rev. R. A. Siegler officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery. Friends wishing may call at the Gant funeral home in Reedsburg after 2 p.m. Thursday, until 11:30 a.m. Saturday when the body will be taken to the church.

Meyer, Richard A. Richard A. Meyer, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Otto Meyer, was born Feb. 17, 1909, and passed away at the Reedsburg Municipal hospital on March 8, 1958, at the age of 49 years and 18 days. On March 21, 1909, he was brought to the Lord in the sacrament of Holy Baptism administered by Rev. F. P. Popp. On April 9, 1922 he renewed his baptismal vows personally in the rite of Confirmation becoming a communicant member of St. John's Lutheran church of Rock Springs and had served it faithfully ever since. On July 23, 1932, he was united in marriage to Hazel Hintz. This union was blessed with one daughter, Karin. Mr. Meyer was engaged in the business of trucking for many years, owning and operating his own trucking firm. Though he had not been in the best of health, his death came very unexpectedly. Surviving are his wife Hazel, a daughter, Karin; and a brother, Kenneth of Muncie, Ind. Funeral services for Mr. Meyer were held Tuesday, March 11, at St. John's Lutheran church of Rock Springs, Pastor R. A. Siegler officiating. Hymns were sung by the church choir. Pallbearers were Harry Haskins, Carl Behnke, Marion Pfaff, Russell Pfaff, Ed Klitzke and Lloyd Frese. He was laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery at North Freedom.

Meyer, Elizabeth (Mielke). Mrs. Kenneth Meyer, 52, Muncie, Ind., a former Rock Springs resident died at her home Tuesday, June 13, 1961. Funeral services for the former Elizabeth Mielke will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in St. John's Lutheran church, Rock Springs. Friends may call this afternoon and until Friday noon at the Gant Funeral home. Meyer, Kenneth. Kenneth Meyer, 64, a former Rock Springs resident passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 10, 1970 at his home in Muncie, Indiana. He was an employee of the Richardson Paint Co., Baraboo. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Mielke, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Meyer and his brother Richard Meyer. Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Kendall Lange (Donna), Rock Springs and four grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be today in Muncie, Indiana.

Meyer, Emma A. (Schanke). Emma A. Meyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schanke, was born in the town of Freedom on August 5, 1981, and passed away at the Reedsburg Municipal hospital on January 14, 1956 at the age of 74 years, 5 months and nine days. On April 9, 1903 she was united in marriage to Otto Meyer and this union was blessed with three children, Alan, who died at the age of 25 days, Kenneth of Muncie, Ind., Richard of Rock Springs, two grandchildren, Mrs. Kendall Lange of Rock Springs and Karin Meyer of Rock Springs. Besides her family she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Harry Verthein of Rock Springs and Mrs. Frank Smith of Adams, Wis. Mrs. Meyer united with the Rock Springs Lutheran church on April 21, 1895 and has served it faithfully ever since. She was an ideal wife, and mother, deeply interested in anything which concerned those dear to her. The history of her life is written in the hearts of her many friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Meyer were held Tuesday, January 17, at the St. John's Lutheran church of Rock Springs, the pastor, R. A. Siegler officiating. Hymns were sung by the church choir. Meyer, Catharina Margretha (Behn). Mrs. Catharina Margretha Meyer, nee Behn was born Jan. 7, 1845 in Oldendorf, Prov. Hanover, Germany. She was baptized and confirmed in Nohrendorf by A. Goergling, Pastor. She was married to George Meyer in 1867. The same year they came to America and located in Loganville. This union was blessed with seven children-5 boys and 2 girls: Fredrick of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Lizzie Kutzbach, town Reedsburg, Wis., Hermann at Reedsburg, Mrs. Lena Riley of Albion, Neb.; August, Lime Ridge; Henry and Eduard at Reedsburg. Her husband died 12 years ago. She made her home since that time with her youngest son, Eduard where she died Dec. 7, 1922, aged 77 years, 11 months after an illness of about 2 years. The deceased leaves to mourn for her, one sister Mrs. Westedt in Wanebeck near Hamburg, Germany, also 30 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Meyer, Annie Mae. Funeral services for Annie Mae Meyer were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church in Baraboo with Pastor Dr. Forrest Clark officiating. Music was provided by organist Marlys Schulz and hymns were sung by the congregation. Interment took place in the Walnut Hill Cemetery with Leo Froese, Dan Church, Rob Church, Tim Green, Randy Burton and Butch Meyer serving as pallbearers.

Meyer, Donald M. Donald M. Meyer 57, RR#3 died suddenly at the home of a brother, Carl with whom he lived the past year. A former resident of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, he was a member of St. John's Church. He was a pipe installer at the Badger Army ammunition plant. He also belonged to the Eagles lodge. Survivors besides his brother include a son, Gary of RR#3; 2 brothers, Durwood of Ferndale, Michigan and Kenneth of Yale, Michigan; 2 sisters, Mrs. Marcella Shaver of Cleveland and Mrs. Shirley Maier of Madison. Meyer, Martha A. (Boyd). Martha A. Meyer, age 89, of Reedsburg, died Sunday, September 15, 2002 at the Sauk County Health Care Center. She was born on December 21, 1912 in Reedsburg, the third of 12 children born to Ida (Buck) and Peter Boyd. Martha was married to Oscar Meyer of Reedsburg on October 27, 1934 in Woodstock, Illinois. Most of their married life they lived in Reedsburg and worked at the Reedsburg Woolen Mill. Martha will be remembered for her love of God, love for her family and for the many caring things she did for others in her lifetime. Martha was a charter member of the Reedsburg Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her husband, Oscar; her parents; three brothers and four sisters preceded Martha in death. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Len) McMillan of Florida; grandson, Mitch (Alicia) McMillan of Florida; twin great-granddaughters, Ashley and Amanda of Florida; brothers, Carroll (Mildred) Boyd of Brownsville, California and Gerald (Dolores) Boyd of Reno, Nevada; sisters, Vivian Dixon of San Carlos, California and Imogene Gregory of Baraboo; special sister-in-law, Arlene Boyd of Baraboo; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Meyer, Clara. Clara Meyer, aged about 4 years, died of cholera infantum last Thursday at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Wm. F. Meyer. Meyer, Sarah B. (Muchow). Sarah B. Meyer, 80, Reedsburg, died on Friday, March 1, 2002, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. She was born on Nov. 13, 1921, in Washington Township, Sauk County, the daughter of Reinhold and Emma (nee Schenck) Muchow. On Jan. 19, 1941, Sarah married Edward E. Meyer at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. This marriage was blessed with five children. After her marriage, Sarah was employed at the Badger Ammunition Plant and later as a cashier at Kroger's Grocery Store in Reedsburg. She started the hot lunch program at St. Peter's School and worked there for many years. She was also later employed at Meyer Oil as the office manager. Sarah was a member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church where she served on the Ladies Aid for many years. She was also a member of the LWML and was active in several Bible studies. Sarah was a former Chairwoman of the Reedsburg Fire Department Auxiliary where she was instrumental in starting the Annual Spaghetti Supper. Sarah enjoyed crocheting, sewing and quilting. She loved to cook and bake, and had a special interest in fishing and playing cards. She is survived by her husband, Edward Meyer, Reedsburg; children and their spouses, Rev. Dr. Ronald and Lou Ann Meyer, New Berlin, Geraldine and Rev. John Ehlke, Spring Valley, Cal., Shirley and Allen Piepenbrink, Menomonee Falls, Gloria and Bruce Darnall, Lake Mills, Rosalie and Rev. Meyer, Zita E. (Soltwedel). Zita E. Meyer, age 86, of Hillpoint died on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. She was born on January 4, 1916 in Sandusky, Wisconsin the daughter of Otto and Emma (Lindenberg) Soltwedel. She was married to Gerhardt W. Meyer on October 6, 1939 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Loganville. Zita and Gerhardt farmed the Meyer Family farm from 1942 until Gerhardt's death on November 14, 1985. Zita was a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville, their choir, Ladies Aid and served on the church council for 6 years. She was the secretary of Luther League when it was organized in November 1931. Her priorities were her family and her church. Zita was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Paul Soltwedel, a half brother, Oscar Lindenberg and her sister, Ellen Behnke. He was born on Dec. 25, 1913, in Westfield Township, Sauk County, to William Carl and Dorothea (nee Lutterman) Meyer. On Oct. 23, 1954, he married Edna G. Muchow. This marriage was blessed with a son. Erwin was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. Meyer, Doloris. Doloris Meyers, age 68, a long time resident of Delta, Utah, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2003, in the Delta Hospital. Doloris May Schmidtgall was born to Erhardt William and Freda Maybelle Ranum Schmidtgall on February 19, 1935, in Flasher, Morton County, N.D., the second of four children. She attended William Moore Elementary in Bismarck, N.D., Baraboo Junior High in Baraboo, Wis. and Prairie High School in Prairie du Chien, Wis., graduating in 1953. After graduating from high school, she moved back to Baraboo and worked as a Tax Description Clerk in the Sauk County Courthouse. Doris accompanied the choir as an organist at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. She married Dean William John Meyers February 19, 1956 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. They later joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Doloris was a devoted and beloved wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, Dean; seven daughters, Kerry (David Rennick) of Georgetown, Ky.; Kathy (Mike Zenovieff) of Smithfield, Utah; Kristie (Doug Healey) of Scappoose, Ore.; Kelly (McKay Shields) of Fillmore, Utah; Karla (Scott) Holman of Delta, Utah; Kina (John Michie) of Eielson, Alaska; and Kim Buys of Oak City, Utah; a son, Kory Meyers, a student of UVSC in Orem, Utah; and 27 grandchildren. Also surviving her are three brothers, Eldon Raye of Casper, Wyo.; David Madsen of Wolf Point, Mont.; and Duane Madsen of Sheridan, Wyo. Preceding her in death were her parents and granddaughter, Chelsea Michie. Funeral services were held Monday, October 13, 2003. Burial was in the Delta Cemetery.

Michael, Owen E. Owen E. Michael of Baraboo, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2001, at the Divine Savior Nursing Home in Portage at the age of 82. Owen was born on November 27, 1918 in Ohio, to William and Lana (Smith) Michael. He was united in marriage to Margaret Dalton on September 21, 1944 in Newfoundland, Canada, while serving in the Army. He also served in the C.C.C. Owen worked for Intrusion-PrePakt Construction Company, building bridges and dams, and was involved with the construction of the Mackinaw Bridge. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Michael of Baraboo; 5 children, June (Fred) Gruber of Baraboo, Dorothy (Richard) Brownell of Baraboo, Sheila (George) Cook of Baraboo, Bill (Donna Kay) Michael of Wisconsin Dells, and Donna Kamenick of Baraboo; 10 grandchildren, Kelly (Darin) King, Kris (Jeff) Reali, Kathy (Jason) Gerike, Randy (Patti) Spaude, Cindy Spaude, Lynn Palmer, Karen (Cliff) Duvall, Eric Michael, Jay Kamenick, and Dan Kamenick; 13 great-grandchildren, Joe Gruber, Ryan Hall, Logan King, Sam and Danielle Reali, Dustin, Jessica, and Cameron Gerike, Brittany Spaude, Jacob Kimpfbeck, Lars and Mia Lange, and Ciara Duvall; a special friend, Mike Hall; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Middlesteadt, Irvin. Irvin E. Mittlesteadt, 80, Reedsburg, died on Friday, Aug. 8, 2003 in St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. He was born on Jan. 9, 1923 in Reedsburg, the son of Elmer and Hazel (Fish) Mittlesteadt. He was married to Eva Dargel on May 6, 1946. Irvin was employed at Reedsburg Foods for many years prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by a son, Evan; his parents; and a sister, Iona Ferguson. He is survived by his wife, Eva, Reedsburg; sons, Daryl (Janie) Mittlesteadt, Woodruff, and Keith Mittlesteadt, Reedsburg; grandchildren, Renee Potter, Richarda, Travis and Lindsay Mittlesteadt; five great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. Mielke, Marguerite M. Marguerite M. Mielke of Baraboo passed away on Dec. 29, 2008 at St. Clare Hospital at the age of 91. Marguerite was born on April 18, 1917 to Florian and Ida (Heinz) Luck in the township of Sumpter. She was united in marriage to Harold Mielke on July 22, 1939 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1990. They farmed for many years in the town of Baraboo. Marguerite had been employed by Industrial Coils until she retired in 1982. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. She also belonged to the Sauk County Retired Teachers Association and many card clubs. She is survived by three children, Jan (David) Deppe of Baraboo, Betty (Jack Kachmarek) Howard of Burnsville, Minn., and Richard (Melanie) Mielke of North Freedom; six grandchildren, Teri Sonsalla and Angie Mielke of Baraboo, Sherri Peterson of Amherst, Lisa (Nathan) Stellrecht of River Falls, Kim (Jason) Nesbitt of River Falls, and Scott Howard of Minneapolis, Minn.; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lyle (Pat) Luck of North Freedom, and LaVerne (Glenyce) Luck of Baraboo; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; and an infant brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo with Pastor Thomas Fricke officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Hill Cemetery. Mihlbauer, Gertrude F. Gertrude F. Mihlbauer, age 84, of LaValle, died on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at the Edward Snyder Nursing Home in Reedsburg. She was born on Sept. 28, 1918, in LaValle, the daughter of Andrew and Edith (Richards) Pearson. On Dec. 9, 1936, Gertrude was united in marriage to Philip J. Mihlbauer in Rockford, Ill. This marriage was blessed with two children. Gertrude and Philip lived all their married lives in LaValle. She is survived by her two sons, Eugene and Karen Mihlbauer and Terry and Kathy Mihlbauer, all of LaValle; four grandchildren, Robin (Robin) Dyck, Kelly (Wayne) Bartz, J.P. (Susan) Mihlbauer and Tammy (Jeff) McCullick; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Grace Pearson, Mary Kennedy and Maymie Mihlbauer, all of LaValle; along with many other relatives and friends. Philip preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Loren Pearson; and sister, Evelyn Nobs. Funeral services for Gertrude F. Mihlbauer will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at the THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME, Wonewoc, with Michael Boyce officiating. Miller, Sarah L. (Ames). Sarah L. Miller, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Harvey Ames, was born May 2, 1879, and passed to her reward October 30, 1946, having reached an age of 67 years, 5 months and 28 days. She was married December 25, 1899, to Carl Miller of Baraboo. Apart from 3 years spent in Portage and 9 years in Fort Morgan, Colorado, all of their married life was spent in Baraboo. To this union was born two daughters, Mrs. Maude Jensen of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Mrs. Myrtle Eckstein of Tawas City, Mich. She is also survived by her husband, one grandchild, Mrs. Betty Young of Baraboo, two great grandchildren and a brother George Ames of Denver, Colorado, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Baptist church and the Royal Neighbors. She was bedridden for the last number of years of her life and remained up to the last a patient and cheerful sufferer. Miller, Edward. Edward "Eddie" Miller of Baraboo passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison at the age of 63. Eddie was born on November 24, 1939 in Baraboo to Neil and Viola (Mueller) Miller. He was united in marriage to Janell Riley Austvold on January 12, 1990 in Baraboo. Eddie worked for the phone company in the Madison and Baraboo areas until he retired. He was a United States Navy veteran. Eddie loved fishing and hunting, enjoyed woodworking especially making his grandchildren rocking horses. He also enjoyed cooking especially fish fry and spaghetti. He was a great entertainer. Eddie had a unique giggle and touched a lot of people's lives. Eddie's grandpa Ernie was a great influence on his love for animals especially horses. He taught Hunter's Safety and also took his dog for hunting demonstrations. Eddie attended Baraboo High School and graduated from the "Class of '58". While in high school he was very athletic and played football, basketball and baseball. Eddie was very patient especially with children. He also cut hair for his family and friends. He enjoyed collecting guns and trapshooting. Eddie loved the outdoors and being outside. Eddie passed down his knowledge and love of the outdoors to his son, Mike. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the NRA, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited and Circus City Sportsmans Club. Eddie is survived by his wife, Janell, Baraboo; one son, Mike Miller, Lyndon Station; his mother, Viola (Glen) Wilcox, Baraboo; one brother, Kenneth (Joanne) Miller, Baraboo; nephew, Ken Miller, Dallas, Texas; three step children, Eric (Christine) Austvold, Boston, Mass., Shawn (Jennifer) Austvold, Rochester, Minn., Shannon Austvold, Madison, Wis., four grandchildren, Calvin, Mitchell, Grace and Abigail Austvold; his constant canine companion, Molly; special friend, Professor Don (Carol) Atkinson, Santa Barbara, Calif.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Miller, Mrs. Carl. The funeral of Mrs. Carl Miller was held on Saturday afternoon at the Scheible and Dyrud funeral home, the Rev. J. G. Hein officiating. Mislivechek, Raymond J. Raymond J. Mislivecek passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2001, at the Sauk-Prairie Memorial Hospital at the age of 43. Ray was born on September 16, 1958, to Clark and Hazel (Sanders) Mislivecek in Hillsboro. He was employed by Flambeau Plastics for over 20 years. Ray was an avid outdoors man, enjoyed hiking and canoeing, and had an interest in aircraft. He is survived by: One son, Clark Mislivecek of New Glarus; his mother, Hazel Mislivecek of Hillsboro; one brother, Roger (Judy Berry) Mislivecek of Baraboo; one sister, Rita (Dennis) Kuester of Hillsboro; a special nephew, Rick; other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Clark; and two sister, Ruby Wong and Maxine Mislivecek. Mitchell, Gertrude M. Gertrude M. Mitchell, age 80, of Baraboo, passed away on Sunday evening, Dec. 15, 2002, at St. Clare Meadows Care Center. Gertrude, the daughter of Cleveland and Emma (Sibenalar) LeSage, was born on Aug. 7, 1922, in Menomonee, Mich. She was united in marriage to Robert V. Mitchell on Feb. 2, 1946, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1998. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Homemaker's Club, and enjoyed working in the coffee shop at St. Clare Hospital with other Auxiliary members. She is survived by nine children, R. Michael Mitchell of Green Bay, Mary (Mickey) Vaughn of Winter Springs, Fla., Peter (Kathy) Mitchell of Tisch Mills, Jeanne (Larry) Kahler of Wisconsin Dells, Beth Anne Mitchell of Silver Springs, Md., Tim Mitchell of Two Rivers, Jim (Joann) Mitchell of Two Rivers, Andrew (Julie) Mitchell of Baraboo, and Ellyn Mitchell of Baraboo; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Betty Ann LeSage of Two Rivers; a sister-in-law, Geraldine (Francis) Burke of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Moedinger, Richard J. Richard J. Moedinger, age 60, of Columbus, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. He was born in Baraboo, on June 27, 1941, the son of Erwin Richard and Lucille Carol (Schultz) Moedinger. He married Nancy Ann Mielke on March 9, 1968 at Emanuel United Methodist Church in Baraboo. Richard worked for over 28 years for Thorstad Chevrolet in Madison and currently was a warranty administrator. He was an avid hunter, liked working with wood, loved his pets, and enjoyed living at his farmette. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dorothy in 1995; and a sister-in-law, Pat in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Columbus; one brother, Donald (Gloria) Moedinger of Baraboo, and Art Moedinger of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Arlene (Sam) Christianson of Sanger, California; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel United Methodist Church with Pastor David Farina officiating. Interment will take place in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Moldenhauer, Anna H. Anna H. Moldenhauer, age 94, of Reedsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002. She was born May 30, 1908, in Ironton township, Sauk County, Wis., to Louis C. and Louise (Harms) Lehman. On Sept. 19, 1928, she was united in marriage to Carl Moldenhauer in Rockford, Ill. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1979. Anna worked at Badger Ordnance in the 1940s and also worked at Hankscraft for eight years, starting in 1947. Anna and Carl farmed for many years. She was a Country School board member in the early 1960s. Anna was a member of the Church of God in Reedsburg and was head of the kitchen for a couple of years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and tatting. She also loved to play cards, especially sheepshead and skippo. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her sons, Richard and Carl; a great -grandson in infancy; sisters, Olga Hinrichs and LeonaMoldenhauer; and brothers, William, Harry, Alvin and Ervin Lehman. She is survived by her son, Donald (Crystal Vivian) Moldenhauer of Reedsburg; daughter -in -law, Ardith Moldenhauer; 14 grandchildren, Cindy, John, Carol, Steve, Candy, Crystal Ann, Barbara, Donald Jr., Debra, Mark, Jeanne, Carl Jr., Michael and David; 15 great -grandchildren; three great -great -grandchildren; sister -in -law, Bertha Lehman of Reedsburg; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Montanye, Mark. Mark Montanye, age 58 years, died suddenly yesterday afternoon of a heart attack at his place of business. Mr. Montanye had been in failing health for some time but had been at his place of business being a partner in the Benzies-Montayne Fuel Co. He was a member of the I.O.O.F., also the Elks lodge and took part in many civic organizations. He is survived by his wife, one son John who is in the navy at Point Barrow, Alaksa, one sister Mrs. Isabel Siekert, Baraboo; nephew, niece, and other distant relatives and friends. Montanye, Della. Mrs. Della Montanye, 92, life long resident of Baraboo and vicinity passed away Tuesday afternoon at St. Mary’s Ringling hospital following a long illness. She was the widow of Clarence Montanye. Surviving are two sons, Ray of Baraboo, and Leslie of Janesville; seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph and Arthur. Funeral services for Mrs. Montanye will be held on Thursday afternoon at the Scheible funeral home at 2 p.m. Rev. Morey, George Bradley. George Bradley Morey, 84, passed away on March 25, 2002. The youngest of four children, he was born in 1918 and raised in Baraboo, son of Fred and Jessie (Prentice) Morey. Fred Morey was founder and bandleader of the Legion Band for many years during the 1930s and 1940s. He was instrumental in establishing and supporting the Zoo at Oschner Park as well as the Municipal Outdoor Pool. The athletic field at the Baraboo High School was donated by Fred Morey, also. George, better known as Brad, married Eleanor Capener of Breezy Hill Farm and when the marriage ended in 1939 he left Baraboo for Chicago and played drums with various jazz bands all his adult life, into his 70s. He was associated with big band leader Stan Kenton, writing many of the arrangements recorded by that band, and arranged musical charts for many other bands as well, over the years. Brad married twice more, both of which ended in divorce. He is survived by four adult children: Janice Larvin, George Morey, Keith Morey and Collette Morey, as well as five grandchildren. Brad died of natural causes, was cremated and no services were held, at his request

Mortimer, Della (Horton). Mrs. Della Horton Mortimer was born near Valton, Wisconsin, February 1, 1873, the daughter of E. E. and Anne Eliza Horton. In 1889 she was married to Wilson Mortimer, and to this union were born two sons, Spencer and Gurdon, and one daughter, Lucy Balch. Her husbands and sons preceded her in death several years ago. In 1940 she was married to Will Mortimer, and he passed away in 1945 in Borger, Texas, where they had gone to live with her daughter, Lucy. Mrs. Mortimer had many varied interests. She was a loyal member of the Friends Church. She passed away February 6, 1958 in Borger, Texas. Surviving are one daughter, Lucy Balch of Borger, Texas; two stepdaughters, Cecil Hendricks of Valton and Thelma Bauer of Mauston; two stepsons, Lona and Roy Mortimer, both of Baraboo. After funeral services in Borger, Texas, on Feb. 8, Mrs. Mortimer’s body was brought to the Thompson funeral home in Wonewoc. Services were held on Feb. 10 at the Valton Friends Church with the Revs. Eastman and Henderson officiating assisted by Rev. Taylor Guthrie of Iowa City, Iowa. Burial was in the Valton cemetery.

Mortimer, Ida May (Murdock). Ida May Mortimer, daughter of John and Susanna Murdock, was born in Valton, April 10, 1876 and died at the home of her son, Virgil, September 7, 1955 at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 27 days. When 12 years old she moved with her parents to a farm two miles southwest of Valton where she resided until she was 30. In 1906, she was united in marriage with James Mortimer. After renting for a time, they bought a farm in Mortimer Valley where they lived for a number of years. Five years after their marriage, they lost their home when it burned to the ground. They sold their farm in 1916 and moved to the Murdock homestead. They continued to take full responsibility of the farm until their son, Virgil, assumed ownership. Mr. Mortimer preceded her in death, having passed away in January of 1940. Mrs. Mortimer leaves to mourn her passing, three sons and their wives: Gilbert and Dorothy of Eau Claire, Virgil and Sophia of Valton, and Wayne and Melva of Kelso, Washington, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Valton Wesleyan Methodist Church on Sunday, Sept. 11 with the Rev. Lloyd Poe officiating. Burial was in the Valton cemetery.

Mortimer, Ralph. Rites for Lifelong Valton Resident: Ralph Mortimer, son of Rhoda Small and John Mortimer, was born April 23, 1880 in the town of Woodland, Sauk County. He passed away January 16, 1960, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Paul Kintz, LaValle. His entire life was spent in the Valton community. He was united in marriage to Effie Colvin of the town of Woodland, January 17, 1906. Five children were born to this union, two sons, and three daughters. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1950, and two brothers, Bert and Sim. He is survived by two sons, John of LaValle, Keith of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters, Rhoda (Mrs. Gerald Stickler) of Phoenix, Arizona, Ruby (Mrs. Paul Kintz) LaValle; Retta (Mrs. Clarence Wallendal) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one brother, Dolph and one sister, Millie Hutchens of Wonewoc and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral services were held on Sunday, Jan. 10 at the Valton Wesleyan Methodist Church with Rev. Clarence Titus officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Jackson sang, “Beyond the Sunset,” and “We are Going Down the River.” Pallbearers were two grandsons and four nephews: Ralph Kintz, Ernest Mortimer, Harvey and Walter Mortimer, Blanchard and Bud Colvin.

Mortimer, Susie (Mosing). Susie Mosing Mortimer, daughter of Nels and Christina Mosing was born March 4th, 1876 at Mauston and died December 29th, 1955 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Kredl in Cazenovia. The early years of her life were spent in the Bethel Community. She was united in marriage to Bert Mortimer of Valton in the year of 1900. To this union were born three children. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Herbert and Kenneth. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and later joined the Wesleyan Methodist church. For twenty-seven years, Mrs. Mortimer was in a wheel chair. Through physical handicap and suffering her faith held steady. Her kindly ways, her cheery disposition, won for her the respect and love of all who knew her. People in calling on her to cheer her found themselves cheered instead. She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter, Beatrice, and husband of Cazenovia; a daughter-in-law, Florence of Madison, a grandson, Dale and wife; two great granddaughters, Vicki Lynn and Kim Renee of Mineral Point; a sister, Mrs. Harry Jessop of Cazenovia, and other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Valton Wesleyan Methodist church, the Rev. L. J. Poe officiating assisted by the Rev. Norma Henderson. The songs, “Some Day the Silver Cord will Break’; and “No Night There” were beautifully rendered by Mr. and Mrs. Gail Jackson with Mrs. Poe at the organ. The pall bearers were Lewis Manglos, Ronald, Walter, John, Keith, and Harvey Mortimer. The beautiful flowers, the memorial gifts and the large gathering of sorrowing relatives and friends were mute evidence of the high esteem in which Mrs. Mortimer was held. Interment was in the Valton cemetery.

Mortimer, Keith. Beloit Daily News, Beloit, Wisconsin, Oct. 30, 1979. Phoenix, Ariz. Keith Mortimer, 62, died Sunday morning after a short illness. He was born in Valton, Wis., and he married Hazel Berg. Survivors include his wife; a son, Ernest of Beloit; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Muhl of Syracuse, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Paul Kintz of LaValle, Wis., and Mrs. Gerald Stickler of Topeka, Kan. He was predeceased by a sister and brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Valton Methodist Church, with burial in Valton Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson Funeral Home, Wonewoc, Wis.

Mortimer, Glenn A. Valton Area Native Succumbs in Hospital Glenn A. Mortimer jr., 38, Lodi, a native of the Valton area, died unexpectedly Friday in a Sauk-Prairie hospital. A Madison resident for 14 years after he left Valton, he had moved to Lodi recently. He was a veteran of Korean conflict and received the Purple Heart for wounds suffered in action. For 20 years, he was a maintenance man for the Oscar Mayer Company, Madison. Survivors include his wife, the former Jacklyn Robeson; three sons, Glenn III, and John and Robert, at home; three daughters, Debra, Christie, and Sharon, at home; his mother, Mrs. Millie Mortimer, Valton; five brothers, Maurice, Milton, and Jerome, Wonewoc; Donald, Lodi; and James Valton; and five sisters, Mrs. LeRoy Hanko, Cazenovia; Mrs. Willis Stittleburg, LaValle; Mrs. Vivian Osborne, Reedsburg; Mrs. Ray Schrivens, Fond du Lac; and Helen Mortimer, Valton. Services were held on Monday morning at Lodi, and burial was in the Valton cemetery.

Mortimer, Millie Ann (Stowe). Millie Ann (Stowe) Mortimer, daughter of William and Sarah Stowe was born in the town of Ironton, Sauk County, March 14, 1886. Death came suddenly at her home Dec. 11, 1963 at the age of 77 years, 8 months, 27 days. She was married to Dolph Mortimer, June 30, 1908 and lived her entire life at their farm home in the Valton community. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1958. While health permitted she was very active in the Valton Methodist church she loved. She enjoyed working with children, was primary Sunday school teacher for years and cradle roll superintendent. Millie was very interested in missionary work and just last week sent a missionary box to Honduras. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, 4 sons, Ronald of Wonewoc; Walter, Ironton; Duane, Columbus; and Dean, Green River, Wy.; and 1 daughter, Mrs. Arnold Blakeslee, Middleton; and Elmer Gaedtke of Boston, Mass., who spent his teen-age years in the Mortimer home. There are also 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; plus 1 brother Ner Stowe, West Allis; and 3 sisters, Mrs. Bertha Chamness, Milwaukee; Mrs. Clarence Kingery, Madison; and Mrs. Ed Ells, Platte, So. Dak. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 14, 1963 at 1:30 pm. In the Valton Wesleyan Methodist church with Rev. Ard Blomberg presiding. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Jackson sang, accompanied by Mrs. Blomberg. Burial was in the Valton Cemetery.

Mortimer, Dolph. Dolph Mortimer, 87, Wonewoc, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 1969, in the Hillsboro Hospital after an illness of two weeks. He was the son of John and Rhoda Mortimer and was born on May 25, 1882 in the Town of Woodland. He was a Valton area farmer and a lifelong resident of this area. On June 30, 1908, he was united in marriage with Millie Stowe at Ironton. To this union, five children were born. Mrs. Mortimer preceded her husband in death on December 11, 1963. Surviving are four sons, Ronald and Walter, Ironton; Duane, Columbus; and Dean, Kankakee, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Arnold Blakeslee, Middleton; a foster son, Elmer Gaedtke, Nashau, N.H.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday in the Valton Wesleyan Methodist Church with Rev. LeRoy Drake and Rev. Jerry Rott officiating. Interment was in the family lot in the Valton Cemetery. The Thompson Funeral Home, Wonewoc was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were James Hainstock, Harry Jordon, Isadore Miller, Ernest Rott, Archie Shore and Kenneth Judd, Jr.

Mortimer, Effie (Colvin). Effie Mortimer, daughter of Dennis and Mary Colvin, was born August 2, 1883 in the town of Woodland, Sauk County. She passed from this life at the Hillsboro hospital, June 4, at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 2 days. Her entire life was spent in the Valton community. She was united in marriage to Ralph Mortimer of the town of Woodland on January 17, 1906. To this union five children were born: two sons and three daughters. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, always ready and willing to help any who were I need. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and seven sisters. She is survived by her husband, Ralph, two sons, John of LaValle, Keith of Wonewoc; three daughters, Rhoda (Mrs. Gerald Stickler) Warrens, Ruby (Mrs. Paul Kintz) LaValle, Retta (Mrs. Clarence Wallendal) Mitchell, South Dakota; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, George of Brainerd, Minn. and Oscar of Wonewoc; and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all. The funeral was held at the Valton Wesleyan Methodist Church, June 7, at 11 a.m., Rev. Carl Holder officiating. Burial was in the Valton cemetery. Mortimer, Mary. Mrs. Mary Mortimer, 77 died at her home near Valton on July 18. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at the Valton Wesleyan Methodist church, with the Rev. L. J. Poe and Rev. Carl Holder in charge. Burial was at the Valton cemetery. Those left to mourn her passing are two daughters, Jennie (Mrs. Lawrence Olds) of Rock Falls, Ill., Grace (Mrs. Ray De Vault) Cazenovia and two sons, Harold and Everet of near Valton.

Mortimer, Ida Mae (Osbourne). 92 died in California 1968 Ida Mae Mortimer, 92, Ontario, Calif. Passed away April 24, 1968 at San Antonio Community Hospital, Upland, Calif. after an illness of several weeks. She was a retired dressmaker and a native of Reedsburg and Rapid City, South Dakota before moving to Ontario, Calif. eight years ago. Mrs. Mortimer was the daughter of John and Alice Osbourne, of Reedsburg. She was married to Abe L. Mortimer in Phillip, South Dakota, May 15, 1918, and they spent 23 years on their farm near Owanka, South Dakota. After Abe’s death she resided in Rapid City until 1960 when she moved to Ontario, Calif. To make her home with Peggy and Orton Olmstead and family. The past few years have been spent in a nursing home following a fall which fractured her hip. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Grace Harper, Dallas, Tex. And Mrs. Ruby Reul, Missoula, Mont.; numerous nieces and nephews Funeral services were held at the Stone Funeral Home, Upland, Calif. On April 26. Interment was in the Bellevue Cemetery, Ontario, Calif.

Muchow, Scott M.  Scott M. Muchow, 35, Minneapolis, Minn., died Monday, April 15, 2002. He was born on April 12, 1967 in Reedsburg, to Melvin and Nina (nee Cottington) Muchow. Scott was a 1985 graduate of Webb High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University of St. Paul, Minn. in 1989 and his Masters Degree in education from St. Thomas University in 1996. Scott acquired the National Board Certification and had been nominated for the Minnesota Teacher of the Year in 2001. He taught at Lincoln School for 10 years. He was a member of the Basillica of St. Mary's in Minneapolis. His father, Melvin Muchow, preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother, Nina Muchow, Reedsburg; brothers and sisters, Steve (Debbie) Muchow, Reedsburg, Stan (Kay) Muchow, Madison, Sue (Paul) Zingsheim, Reedsburg, and Sandy (Steve) Peterson, Reedsburg; nieces and nephews, Michelle, Stephen, Chad, Kelly, Kurt, Derek, Dustin and Dylan; great-nephew, Brayden; maternal grandmother, Ruth Cowan, Reedsburg; great aunts, Helen Ziech and Pearl Neibuhr; many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Muchow, Lorraine E. (Gall). Lorraine Evelyn Muchow, age 84 of Reedsburg died on Friday, November 24, 2006 at the Sauk County Health Care Center. She was born on March 28, 1922 in Rock Springs, Wisconsin the daughter of William and Lydia (Martin) Gall. She was married to John Lucas Muchow on May 10, 1944 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rock Springs. This marriage was blessed with two sons. She farmed with her husband for 20 years in Ironton Township. She was active in the neighborhood homemakers club and the St. Peter's Ladies Aid. After leaving the farm, she was employed by the Reedsburg Cleaners and as a housecleaner. During this time she made many friends through her owrk. Lorraine will be remembered as a friendly, outgoing lady. She was known for her cooking, especially her cheesecake. She made excellent pies and often remarked, she did not know what a pie was until after she married. She was especially proud of the time she spent as a young lady working in Chicago at the Edgewater. She was devoted to her family. Lorraine was especially close to her nieces and nephews and would gladly help them whether it was babysitting, sewing or anything else she could do for them. She is survived by her sons, John (Debbie) Muchow of Reedsburg, Wayne (Linda) Muchow of Ashwaubenon; grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob and James Muchow, Ryan and Marissa Muchow; brother, Harold (Jean) Gall of Lyndon Station; sister, Mary Ann (Paul) Sekaney of Antigo; brothers and sister-in-law, Harold and Eleanor Muchow, Verna and Gerhardt Brandt and Arlene and Donald Westphal; also by a large family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her staff family the the Sauk County Health Care Center whom the family is especially appreciative to for the wonderful and loving care given to her. She was preceded in death by her husband, John on Nov. 13, 2002; her parents and her sister, Gertrude. Muchow, John Lucas. John Lucas Muchow, age 82 of Reedsburg, died Wednesday, November 13, 2002 peacefully at home in Reedsburg. He was born on January 6, 1920 in Hillpoint, Wisconsin to Simon and Lillie (Schilling) Muchow. On May 10, 1944, he united in marriage to Lorraine Gall at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock Springs, Wisconsin. This marriage was blessed with two sons. John farmed for over 20 years in Ironton Township where he also served as assessor. After moving to Reedsburg, he worked for more than 30 years in carpentry and woodworking. He was a dedicated member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. John was well known for his butchering and sausage making skills. His joys were his wife, his family, his many friends, his love of baseball and card playing. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorraine; his children, John (Debbie) Muchow of Reedsburg, Wayne (Linda) Muchow of Ashwaubenon; grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob and James Muchow, and Ryan and Marissa Muchow; brother, Harold (Eleanor) Muchow of Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania; sisters, Verna (Gerhardt) Brandt and Arlene (Donald) Westphal of Hillpoint. John is also survived by a large family of nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gerhardt, Hugo, Arnold and Clarence. Muchow, Nina Mae (Cottington). Nina Mae Muchow, 70, Reedsburg, died Monday, May 19, 2003, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 17, 1932, in Buffalo Center, Iowa to Dwight and Ruth (nee Ziech) Cottington. On May 25, 1951, she married Melvin H. Muchow at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Loganville. This marriage was blessed with five children. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; son, Scott Muchow; her father, Dwight Cottington and step-father, Frank Cowan. She is survived by her mother, Ruth Cowan, Reedsburg; children, Steven A. (Debra) Muchow, Reedsburg, Stanley G. (Kay) Muchow, Madison, Sue E. (Paul) Zingsheim, Reedsburg, and Sandra L. Muchow, Harlen John. Harlen John Muchow, 70, Rock Springs, passed away on Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at his home. Harlen, the son of Herman and Adela (nee Radatz) Muchow was born on Feb. 22, 1933, in Hillpoint. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Harlen was employed by House of Harmony mobile home manufactures as a technician for many years. He also had worked for American Motors and Wisconsin Dairies. On weekends Harlen tended the Washington Township Dump. Harlen married June Paukstat on May 10, 1997, in Hillpoint at St. John's Lutheran Church. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hillpoint and the Hillpoint VFW Post 3434. Harlen is survived by his wife, June Paukstat, Rock Springs; three children, Michael (Judy) Muchow, McAllen, Texas, LaReen (Kevin) EIfers, Milltown, and Sheri (Tim) Nelson, Taylors Falls, Minn.; six grandchildren, Michael and Jessica Muchow, Christine, Heather and Ashley Elfers, and Timothy Nelson; a brother, Marvin (Dolores) Muchow, Loganville; a sister, Della (Duane) Griffin, Reedsburg; a sister-in-law Evelyn Muchow; six nieces and nephews, Loella (Don) Breight, Luann (Louis) Hoff, Lisa (Pat) Farber, Susan (John) Vater, Duane Muchow, and Wendy (Pat) Biba and their families and many other relatives and friends. Harlen was preceded in death by his father, Herman; his mother, Adela; an infant brother, Ernest; an infant sister, Grace; two brothers Raymond and Roger; and two nephews, Roger (Duffer) Muchow and David Muchow. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hillpoint with Pastor Richard Agenten officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Hillpoint. Muchow, Gustave Sr. Gustave Muchow Sr., a farmer near Sandusky, while trying to shut trhe gate on his pigs the morning of 22 December, was attacked by a ugly hog and bitten so severly that an artery in his leg was severed. He died in a few hours. The funeral was held December 26, 1896, at the residence of his son, Charles Muchow, with whom he has made his home for the past year.

Mueller, Meta Ida (Mielke). Meta Ida (Mielke) Mueller, 88, Sumpter Township, died at home on Saturday, April 29, 2000. She was born in the La Rue area in Sauk County on December 16, 1911, the daughter of the late Otto and Ida (Schwantz) Mielke. She graduated from Baraboo High School and Sauk County Normal School in 1931. She taught school at Yanke Street School (rural Prairie du Sac), prior to her marriage to Edwin C. Mueller, on June 17, 1936. The couple farmed in Sumpter Township all of their married lives. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Prairie du Sac and it’s Prayer Chain and a charter member of the Friendly Hours Homemakers Club. She is survived by: a son, Harold Mueller, Sumpter; a daughter, Mary (Roger) Edge, Milwaukee; a granddaughter, Rebecca Edge; a sister, Esther Gundlach, Spring Green; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, Edwin; two brothers, Fred and Obert Mielke; four sisters, Clara Puttkammer, Florence Jesse, Evelyn Young and Bertha Smith. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 3 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Prairie du Sac with Pastor Donald Wendt officiating. Burial was in Otter Creek Cemetery. Mueller, Leona B. Leona B. Mueller, 96, Wonewoc, passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Hillsboro. She was born on Nov. 26, 1906, in the Township of Woodland, Sauk County, at the home of her parents, Edward and Mary (nee Reineke) Hochmuth. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wonewoc. She attended Wonewoc Grade School and St. Paul's Lutheran School, getting confirmed March 28, 1920. She attended Wonewoc High School for two years, and at this time in her life, her mother, Mary, passed away in 1923 at the age of 37. Due to the early death of her mother, Leona and her sisters were involved with much of the home and farm work through their schools years and early adult years. On April 8, 1934, she married Herbert Mueller at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wonewoc. This marriage was blessed with three children. They spent their entire married life in the Wonewoc area, farming in the Township of Woodland until 1949 when they retired to the village of Wonewoc. In the next few years, Herb and Leona planted a large strawberry patch and offered the first "Pick Your Own Strawberries" to the area. Leona was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and served her church in many ways. She was an officer in Altar Guild and Sewing Circle and active in Ladies Aid Society. She was a charter member of Plum Valley Homemakers, Plum Valley Soil Conservation and Wonewoc Friends and Neighbors Club. She enjoyed her family and friends, gardening, baking and sewing. She is survived by her children, Ethel Degner, Wonewoc, Earl (Christine) Mueller, Huntley, Ill., Mary Witz, Wonewoc; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Duddleston, LaValle; along with other relatives and friends. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, on July 25, 1973; two sisters, Louise Boehme and Alta Dahlke; a brother, Earl Hochmuth; and two sons-in-law, Bill Witz and Ernest Degner. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 14, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wonewoc with Pastor Kevin L. Cortez officiating. Mueller, Harold E. Wisconsin State Journal - Obituary for Mueller, Harold E. SUMPTER/ NORTH FREEDOM - Harold E. Mueller, age 60, of rural North Freedom, died on Friday, May 9, 2003, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. He was born on June 22, 1942, in Baraboo, the son of the late Edwin C. and Meta I. (Mielke) Mueller. Harold graduated from Prairie du Sac High School in 1961. He farmed all of his life on the family farm in Sumpter township. He was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Prairie du Sac, the church choir and the Badger Steam and Gas Engine Club. He is survived by his sister, Mary (Roger) Edge of Greenfield, and a niece, Rebecca (Bob) Hansen of Chilton. A funeral service will be held at ST. Mueller, Otto H. Otto H. Mueller, age 93 of Baraboo, passed away on Thursday evening, December 4, 2003 at his residence. Otto, the son of Herman and Mary Mueller, was born in the Town of Sumpter in Sauk County. He was united in marriage to Leona Schara at St. John's Evangelical Church in Leland, by pastor John G. Pfohl on February 14, 1935. She preceded him in death on January 14, 1999. Otto farmed in the townships of Sumpter, Merrimac, and Baraboo. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. Survivors include three sons, Wayne (Donna) Mueller of Baraboo, Allan (Mary) Mueller of Baraboo, and James (Yolanda) Mueller of Texarkana, Ark.; four daughters, Beldona (Warren) White of Baraboo, Elaine Larsen of Elkhorn, Janice (Wayne) Steinhorst of Oregon, and Betty Crum of Wisconsin Dells; 24 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Emma Wolkow of Reedsburg, Celia Hewitt of Columbus, and Helen Englehart of Madison; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, Leona, Otto was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Debra Ann Larsen; infant twin grandsons, Howard and Robert Larsen; and a son-in-law, Tom Larsen.
