The Executive Director manages the SCHS on a daily basis. He is in charge of fund raising, financial management, staff supervision, and reports to the Board of Directors at their meetings. In addition, he oversees the society’s insurance, maintenance and operation of the Society’s facilities. Represents the Society at community and governmental meetings. He also is a liaison for other Sauk County historical societies, area businesses and other organizations.
The job of the Curator is management of the Society's archive and artifact collection. Also, to organize ongoing lecture series and adult education programs, assist at public events, maintain existing museum exhibits and develop new exhibits, and to coordinate exhibits at other locations. Other duties include preparing portions of our collection for a move to the History Center when it's finished, and training volunteers for collections related tasks.
Office & Research Manager/Bookkeeper
The Office & Research Manager facilitates public access to the museum, greets visitors, and provides basic office & clerical support for Society functions. She also assists researchers with requests for information or directs them to the proper research volunteer. The Museum Keeper also assists with the mailing of the newsletter, and is in charge of merchandise sales. She is the volunteer coordinator and helps train volunteers for museum related tasks.
Her Bookkeeper job is to keep track of day to day financial operations as well as the Society’s fundraising campaigns including the History Center fundraising campaign.
Kathy LaCombe is the docent at the Sauk County Historical Society Museum. She welcomes visitors and provides them with information about the Society and museum. The museum is open May through October, Fridays and Saturdays, noon until 4 pm.
